Krece HARRIS
Bonus Day

NRS has teamed up with the greatest professional team roping instructors to offer the finest roping clinics in the world. These advanced clinics are for ropers with preferably at least 1 year of experience roping, who can complete a basic team roping run, ride fairly competently, and who are ready to get more technically proficient with their roping, fine tuning each element of the run. These clinics are either 2 or 3 days with the instructor and 1 “Bonus Day” with the NRS staff. The Bonus Day is optional. However, we believe this Bonus Day will be very beneficial and will prepare you to get the most out of the clinic.

On this day we will accomplish the following:
  • Video 2 runs for review by the instructor prior to the clinic.
  • Discuss and work horseback on the “8 Essential Elements of Roper’s Horsemanship.” There is not time during the clinic to accomplish this.
  • Discuss the differences in bits and their proper uses. There are over 300 different bits at the training center to use freely and evaluate.
  • Discuss saddle construction and fit. There are many different saddles to try to evaluate fit for the rider and the horse.
  • Discuss horse health management.
  • Discuss protective leg boots. The differences in each and the advantages.
  • Discuss saddle blankets and pads. All of the popular performance pads are available to try and evaluate.
  • Discuss ropes, their construction, differences, features and advantages. There are 8,000 ropes in stock at NRS.
  • Have the opportunity to take care of any administrative business so as not to take up valuable time during the clinic.
  • Go over the arena rules for the weekend, divide everyone into teams, and discuss the way the instructor will want the
    clinic to run.

This day is a great opportunity to get to know each other and it also allows your horses a day to rest and adjust after traveling. Many of our students come from all across the country.
