Van HARGIS
Ranch Horse Skills

Ranch Horse Skills Clinic
Van Hargis is rapidly becoming known as one of the most versatile horsemen/clinicians in the business today. Van has trained and competed in the rodeo and show arena in events ranging from western pleasure to reined cowhorse to roping to steer wrestling. Van’s practical experiences in the show ring, rodeo arena and on the ranch, coupled with his great speaking ability, have made him one of the most requested clinicians. The core of each clinic is the theme that a horse’s solid foundation is the basis for everything we do with a horse. Van’s “Ranch Horse Skills” clinic is designed to teach well-rounded horsemanship skills. These skills include tack utilization, equine health and management, essential riding skills including speed control, lead changes, posture and reining. Van will also address some specific problems you may be having with your horse such as ground manners, trailer loading, or stubborn attitude. This clinic is also designed to teach some basic cattle handling skills such as herding, roping, cutting and sorting. This is a great, comprehensive horsemanship clinic designed for anyone who wants to get the most enjoyment and use out of his quarter horse.

Ranch Horse Versatility

Van Hargis is one of today’s most sought after clinicians
and trainers who regularly is invited to do horsemanship seminars at fairs and events all over the United States. Van’s Ranch Horse Versatility Clinic is designed to teach you how to train to be able to compete in the fast growing equine event known as “Ranch Horse Versatility.” All 5 elements of this event will be covered in detail (Ranch Horse Conformation, Ranch Riding, Ranch Trail, Ranch Cutting, and Working Ranch Horse). This is a very comprehensive 4-day clinic full of pasture work, arena work, and cattle work. The clinic is limited to 16 riders. A basic understanding of the Ranch Horse Versatility event is necessary. If you are a beginner horseman, we suggest attending Van’s Ranch Horse Skills clinic before attending the more specialized versatility clinic.
