  Horse Standing Wraps Bandaging Basics
Horse Standing Wraps
1. Begin with rolled bandages. Start from outside with cotton centered between base of knee to just above fetlock.
Horse Standing Wraps 2. Just before end of cotton, place end of bandage inside cotton so they overlap smoothly, locking them together. Bandage should start several inches below knee. Wrap down leg to just above fetlock, overlapping each layer by half each time you go around.
Horse Standing Wraps 3. Pull each layer gently. Only pull when you come around back of leg toward inside of horse’s body. Do not wrap below the fetlock. Bandage should cover cannon bone area.
Horse Standing Wraps 4. Cotton quilt should extend above and below bandage. Continue wrapping back up leg in same fashion and end just below knee, with velcro facing rear of horse. Place a piece of tape over velcro to help keep it closed. Bandage should be done as smoothly as possible and not left on more than 24 hours.
