I am happy to give a review on this pad. In an equine world full of pads this pad stands as an example of true old world craftsmanship that can’t be replace by modern materials. This pad is 100% sheep wool, with 100% thick leather wear guards that run the length of the pad and are laced in place with leather making one think it could cause too much thickness but no it’s perfect! The pad is over sized which is also perfect because I use it under my Saddleright pad. It’s sewn together, again with natural fiber thread to make it thick and soft but not too thick. I’ve been using two Navajo pads with my Saddleright pad until I got this pad which is Goldilocks just right. It leaves an even sweat pattern and conforms to my mounts back, I always tent the front and rear to give space for wither and spine. Now there are other Casa Zia pads that are not the original which is made in Mexico. The others are inferior and made elsewhere. I got the striped one and will order another. They are heavy about 7 pounds, so soft, good quality and worth the small price for such a great pad. I ride in extremely humid hot weather and this pad keeps my mounts back healthy. These pads are hard to find and I am so happy NRS CARRIES THE REAL CASA ZIA! You won’t believe the difference in quality of riding with this pad, but don’t take my word for it get one for yourself.
